We didn’t win that one, but we won the one right after it, and I’ve scored a goal in every game since. Patience is the vikingtoto key, and sometimes the right answer is to do nothing and let someone else make a mistake. Once you learn that, the mental aspect of the game becomes pretty incredible. Rematch feels amazing when you’re winning; when you make the great pass to set up the game-tying goal, when you hit the overtime winner by bending it just so, when you land a tackle or intercept the ball, when you make the perfect save. When you make a mistake, like going too far out of your goal to chase a ball and leaving your net wide open for a score, you’ll feel it. And when you’re playing a team that just straight up outclasses you?
It has been my goal in the past few years to inspire that feeling in anyone who reads a Digital Trends game review. Gaming is an evolving artform and I believe that the way we talk about it needs to change to meet that transformation. It now feels hollow to praise a game simply because it has hyper realistic graphics and 100’s of hours of content.
Apart from giving certain players a renewed reason to survive (and raising questions about how, exactly, a newborn can compete in the Squid Game), the baby is a brilliant, devastating show of the trauma handed down from parent to child. As her fate is left up to a soulless system and desperate opponents, she brings a 21st-century disregard for children into alarming focus. Two Point Museum is a delightful, interactive addition to the Two Point Studios catalog, having built itself a niche for quirkiness and accessibility-focused management sim design. It takes players off on a trip into the bizarre realm of curating a museum, where more emphasis is placed on building experience and less on putting things on the ground. Rather, it’s an odyssey of the weird and the whimsical, a … Your House is an interactive, text-based mystery game that couples dynamic puzzles with vivid storytelling and delivers a video game experience pushing the limits of books and videogames alike.
February 14, 2024 • The new remake of Mario vs. Donkey Kong delivers ace animation and a welcome “casual mode,” but its two-player co-op can be more frustrating than fun. October 15, 2024 • ‘Jamboree’ feels scattered and altogether too eager to please. But while the game’s a mixed bag, it’s still one of the best in the chaotic Nintendo series.
I stopped approaching games as products to be evaluated on a checklist and began focusing on how effectively they communicated something to me. It’s how I found myself loving Pikmin 4, a game that practices what it preaches about the joys of organization by turning Pikmin’s classically chaotic strategy gameplay into something tidy and streamlined. It’s why I lambasted The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered’s roguelike mode, an addition that I felt spat in the face of the base game’s mediation on cyclical violence. It’s why Despelote is one of my favorite games of 2025, towering above glitzy games 1000 times its size. I don’t just want games to distract me; I want them to speak to me.
The momentary cracks in Gi-hun’s moral resolve are distressing but also surprisingly grounding. He’s way more relatable than a hero who unwaveringly commits to taking the high road. While most of the game works extremely well, there are some aspects that detract from the experience.
The Alters Brings Kojima-esque Weirdness To A Tale Of Sci-fi Survival
Donkey Kong Country Returns HD is back for a third time on a new console and proves that the right blend of puzzles and level design can make a game stand the test of time even 15 years after its initial release. Back in 2015, Xenoblade Chronicles X was a huge RPG that strayed away from the usual formula of the series. This Definitive Edition cleans up some of its shortcomings and lets a new generation of players experience it for the first time. Inspired by old-school RTS games, Tempest Rising has its own unique style that manages to shine through all the nostalgia and comparisons to classics of the genre. Designed with younger players in mind, Disney Illusion Island is a colourful Metroidvania that’s devoid of combat.

It’s a mind-bending process, complete with lavish visuals and music for added extra drama. Using the ship’s quantum computer, you can revisit core events from Jan’s life visualized as a neuron, brain-core timeline. There are branches in the timeline, visually representing times when Jan made a choice, and following each branch takes you to a different Jan ‘variant’.
For many who stick with one game throughout the years, 2024 has delivered some great expansions. Destiny 2’s newest update, The Final Shape, is a worthwhile finale to Bungie’s long-running shooter, while World of Warcraft’s latest expansion, The War Within, kicks off a new start for Blizzard’s beloved MMORPG. A crew-driven sci-fi adventure for 1-6 players where you explore an uncharted galaxy, facing alien threats and tough moral dilemmas through episodic, choose-your-own-adventure narrative encounters. After scrambling past lava rivers, radiation spots, and rocky terrain, he arrives at the mission base – a giant wheel-shaped ship. Jan soon realizes that unless he gets the base moving, the entire station will be engulfed in an intense radiation wave emitted from the sun, and he’ll be fried to a crisp. He can’t pilot the ship without a crew; there’s just too much to do for just one person. Faced with the threat of total annihilation, he makes a life-altering choice and decides to clone himself. Every storyline lands with a neat bow that feels unearned and seems more interested in setting up franchise expansion than closing this story with the weight it deserves.
You can examine big life events and choose a Jan who made different choices than Jan Prime. These life choices lead to a different Jan with different life experiences and a different skillset. “Stars in the Trash” isn’t just a game; it’s a charming, hand-drawn love letter to classic animation. This delightful platformer tells the story of Moka, a pampered housecat who yearns for adventure beyond the confines of his comfortable home. The game’s greatest strength undoubtedly lies in its stunning visuals. Every frame is a work of art, reminiscent of classic Disney and Don …
Basically, you can’t really complete a quest over the course of the campaign without pissing off one of the four main crime families in order to please another. Cosying up with one cartel might get you cheaper prices at a merchant you’re onside with, but it’ll also rob you of the ability to move about freely within the headquarters of another gang you’ve slighted, inadvertently or otherwise. There are also 40 playable characters, including Sonic the Hedgehog, with unique stats and abilities to experience in the Skill Battle mode. The world, story, and gameplay of Puyo Puyo Tetris 2S is bright, charming, and colourful.
It’s a dramatic and gripping start to the game, and it’s a high that never lapses. The Alters is more story-focused than 11 Bit’s previous work, but the fight for survival is just as fierce. Mario Kart World is a gorgeous racing game with endless hours of fun to be had, though its defining new game mode doesn’t quite hit the mark.
