Marvel’s Spider-Man 2’s map is far more expansive than its predecessor. In fact, it’s about twice as large, with new areas of New York City added in the sequel, including Brooklyn, Queens, and the East River. Easily jumping off the screen, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 allows players to take control of both Peter Parker and Miles Morales, freely switching between the two on the fly. More is definitely more in this case, as players follow individual storylines and take side missions, some exclusive to each character. Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, recently released in 2023, is the official action-adventure sequel to 2018’s Spider-Man entry. Insomniac and Sony Interactive Entertainment continue to collaborate on the franchise, releasing the sequel on PS5 platforms.
Gameplay
If like me, you’ve had a PS5 since launch you’re firstly very lucky, and secondly your DualSense controller is probably looking a little worn five years on. I’m thinking it’s about time I refreshed my controller line-up, not only with new hardware – but new hardware in some different colors. Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 on PC is unfortunately the inferior version of what is otherwise an amazing game. Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 releases for PC via Steam and Epic on Thursday, 30th January – and as we recently learned, it won’t require a PSN account to play after all. All of which brings us to Marvel’s Spider-Man 2’s PC system requirements, with Sony’s minimum specification targeting 720p at 30fps on Very Low settings.
Of course, a hero is nothing without its villains, and Spider-Man’s rogues gallery is almost unparalleled. Outside of the likes of Venom, Kraven, and Lizard seen in the trailers, Insomniac has kept many more cards hidden up its sleeve. I won’t even hint at any of these except to say that Spider-Man 2 opens with a bang, offering up a sense of scale not previously seen in the series. It’s an adrenaline-fuelled reintroduction to the series that tests how well you remember the combat, as well as providing a few new tricks. It’s also the start of one of the new side-story villain threads that are optional, and while those don’t offer anything overly new in terms of gameplay, they do add valuable extra scraps of story. They flesh out these villains, allowing fully formed characters to emerge where once they were merely one-and-done boss battle appearances.

Head for Avengers Tower (the tall skyscraper with the red A on it), then check the buildings just West of it. The Spider-Bot will be here on the North face of one of the brick buildings. This Spider Bot, Spider-Armor MK III, is found in the Northern end of Upper East Side. On the map screen, look for the El Train tracks cut through the middle of the district from North to South.
Miles overcomes his anger towards Li and helps him escape, directing him to find Peter. Once Li informs him of Miles’ location, Peter arrives to storm Kraven’s fortress in an effort to rescue him and nearly kills Kraven before Miles intervenes, defeating the corrupted Peter and convincing him to remove the symbiote. Peter, Mary Jane, and Harry visit Coney Island to reconnect; while there, the Hunters attack the park to capture a reformed Tombstone. While Peter rescues civilians, he is assisted by a super-powered Harry, who learns about Peter’s double life. Harry reveals that, on his father Norman Osborn’s insistence, he was cured by Curt Connors via a powerful organic exosuit that physically augments his body.
